In de onderstaande mail wordt gevraagd naar iemand die de Nederlandse vertaling van Bluegriffon wil oppakken. Wie o wie?
Dear Yoshino-san, Channy, Tomer, Tim, Ton, Marek and Alexander,
I got your email from Pascal Chevrel and I hope you will excuse this
intrusion in your mailbox.
I am currently facing a painful decision regarding some locales of
BlueGriffon [1], my wysiwyg editor based on Mozilla. Some localizers,
namely the ja ko he nl and pl localizers in this context, have vanished
and not updated their locales in a loooong time.
So this message is call for help :-/ If there is anything you (as a well
known localizer of Firefox) or someone in your community, can do to
help a Mozilla-based product here, it is *highly* welcome. I have added
Alexander to this email because one of the widely used languages
BlueGriffon is still missing is Russian and it saddens me.
Being a small project in comparison with Firefox, we work a little
bit differently: all our locales always acquire the en-US string that
localizers have to translate afterwards. So technically, our locales are
not _broken_, they're just _incomplete_. We have a L10N Manual for
Windows users available at [2]. I'm sure you'll be able to adapt it to
Mac and Linux if that's your platform. Our most recent changes are
listed at [3] but some of the locales listed above need more changes
than that, unfortunately.
Again, BlueGriffon is a smaller project than Firefox, so what we miss
for ja ko he nl and pl is not a huge work. In particular, we have a
Firefox extension comparing two locales and able to report a diff
between the en-US locale and any other one.
So again, if you have some spare cycles and are willing to help a
MPL-based Mozilla-related product, you're most welcome. Let me know,
please.
Thanks !
Best regards from StGermain en Laye, France.
